Advertising on Staff Clothing and Uniforms

Your staff benefit by having the clothing free of charge, and you can probably supply it to them net of tax (check this with your accountant). Your staff will then be easily identified by your customers and the public and will project a much more professional image.

Put your Advertising Message on Staff Clothing and Staff Uniforms

Do you remember seeing old pictures of the man walking up and down the street wearing a sandwich board advertising one of the shops and acting as a human billboard?

I doubt that you could get one of your own employees to don a sandwich board and walk around all day - especially if it is raining.

But there is another way.

A really good way of promoting your company is by providing all your staff with a shirt or jacket with your company name and logo on it.

A few years ago you would pay a fortune in set up fees and no one would talk to you if you were not about to order hundreds of garments. Due to advances in technology and printing processes it is now possible to have a logo and/or company name or slogan on a garment at very reasonable prices. Even single garments are now possible and easily affordable.

There are two ways that you can put your logo onto a garment. One is to use a photographic or printing process to put your image onto the garment. The other is to have your logo stitched onto the garment.

Both processes have their own advantages and disadvantages.

The Printing / Photographic Process
The advantages of the photographic process is that this can be done almost instantly. Basically your image is scanned into a computer and then printed out using special printers. Another advantage is that you can print a very large image at very little extra cost.

The disadvantage of the printing process is that the colours can fade after a couple of washes. Often the printed image can make the garment feel stiff and uncomfortable to wear.

Embroidery
The advantages of using embroidery is that you get a much better finish on most items, especially heavier items such as fleeces, as the logo is actually sewn into the garment. As both the embroidery and the garment are of similar material they will both last about the same length of time. With embroidery you do not have any problems with the embroidery fading - in fact it should be almost as good as new even after the garment itself is well past its best.

The disadvantage is that the image must be digitised - this is a process that takes time and the quality depends heavily on the skill of the person doing the digitising.

Below are links to a couple of companies in the UK who will put your Company Name and logo onto tshirts and other garments, both will take an order for a single garment and there are no set up fees.
